SECS-GEM data
SECS/GEM is a communication protocol that enables you to run in a fully integrated production environment. It consists of two abbriviations:
-
SECS: SEMI Equipment Communication Standard
-
GEM: General Equipment Model
SECS is divided into two parts:
1. The part that describes the physical link between the equipment and the outside world. This part can either be SECS I or HSMS. SECS I uses and RS-232-C connection and is desribed in the SEMI E4- standard. HSMS uses the much faster TCP/IP communication layer and is described in the SEMI E37-standard
2. The part that describes the language that the equipment should talk with the outside world. This is called SECS II and is described in the SEMI E5-standard. The GEM standard is described in the SEMI E30-standard and describes the
generic behavior for an equipment. Both standards are SEMI standards that can be obtained via SEMATECH.
Multiple tray offloading
Finished products can be sorted into different trays. Depending on the vision check results, products may be finished and products can be qualified after reworking or might be disposed right away. Different tray offloaders can therefore be implemented.
