Meco's product group Film & Foil offers a number of different plating techniques for a large variety of applications. Metal foils plated with a nickel, gold or silver finish are commonly used in notebooks, PDA and mobile phones where they become for example a shinny selector button. Another application for example are etched copper foils plated with a nickel and gold finish for inkjet cartridges and contact cards. 

One of the new applications is  RFID smart labels and tags, to be used for a wide range of security, medical and logistic applications. These smart labels and tags consist of a RFID chip and an antenna inlay. The antenna inlays are currently made out of etched copper or aluminium and, in some cases, by printing conductive ink. Neither production methods, meet the market perspective of reliable but low cost solution. Meco developed a new production process which can meet these requirements and is called the:  Meco FAP  system.
