Valor’s Traceability solution provides all the production tracing functionality that today’s automotive industry demands. Certifi cation of product content results, helping to fulfi ll customer demands, and external regulatory reporting demands are met.

  • All production parameters, activities and actions are monitored and stored for each completed product.
  • Product recall is limited to only those products that are defective or contain a defective component.
  • Traceability data-capture is fully automated, thus removing the possibility of operator input error and reducing manual audit activities.
Valor’s Traceability option monitors component and bare board usage. Data is kept on component placement on each individual bare board and is referenced against production program, time stamp, order number and other relevant traceability criteria. Comparisons can be made against production program requirements to confi rm that the correct components have been placed
and a defi nitive record of component usage and placement results. Any resulting product recall is precise and only products that are defective or contain defective components need to be recalled.
 
Material Traceability
Material used in production, such as Solder Paste, is also traceable with Valor’s Traceability option. Data is
sourced from the Screen Printer solution and the solder paste used on bare boards is recorded for traceability purposes. Solder Paste type is confi rmed against production requirements and material usage constraints such as expiry date and lead/lead-free status is confi rmed to ensure regulatory compliance.
 
 
Asset and consumable usage is monitored, and full statistical information is kept on individual machine performance and associated pickup or placement error frequency.
 
Process Traceability
All production processes are monitored, and production orders can be traced throughout the entire production process via lot numbers and/or job identifi cations to ensure full production certifi cation. Processes such as the stencil and nozzle used are stored and can be used to identify products that may impact on production. Asset and consumable usage is monitored, and full statistical information is kept on individual machine performance and associated pickup or placement error frequency. Moisture Sensitive Devices (MSD’s) data is sourced from the Dry Component Administration option, and is used to trace correct MSD storage and usage.
 
 
Operator and Hand Assembly Trace

Valor’s Traceability option monitors all operator actions, such as kitting and splicing. All operator actions are monitored without the need for operators to complete manual auditing processes, and are fully traceable. It is simple to identify production discrepancies resulting from operator error and the required training can be planned to remedy any evident problems. Wastage caused by operators when performing splicing actions is also identifi ed. Most products require at least some degree of manual assembly and traceability data has previously been diffi cult to obtain. Valor’s Box Builder option stores data on all manual assembly actions, all of which can be traced against production program, operator, placed component, and bare board etc.

Quality
Product recalls are expensive not just in fi nancial terms, but also in terms of damage to customer relationships and loss of potential orders. Valor’s Traceability option limits the occurrence and limit of product recalls.
 
  • All products (regardless of product ID) that contain defective component(s) or material type(s) are identifi ed prior to delivery – and product recall is subsequently kept ‘in-house’.
  • 'Out-of-house’ recalls are reduced. Only products containing defective component(s) and/or material need to be recalled limiting fi nancial and customer relationship damage.
  • Suppliers of defective components and/or material are easily identified – simplifying quality resolution issues.
